Mondays...or days that seem like Mondays.

A sunny Monday morning is finally upon us. It's February and it has been cold and dreary, many of us have been chatting about the reality of Seasonal Affective Disorder, sometimes called "winter depression." Here's a quick test, do you perk up when the sun comes out? Do you know you are affected by the lack of light and perhaps feel yourself to be low on energy? What to do to find that energy? Here are 3 things you can try and a link to the Mayo Clinic re: SAD.  https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20364651

1. LAUNCH yourself out of bed, off the couch, away from the TV by doing a countdown, just like a rocket launch, T minus 7 and counting: 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 UP and move...  If you only need T-3, that's great, find the sequence that works for you and launch yourself into some kind of movement like getting a drink of cold water, washing your face and smiling in the mirror, or going for a short walk to get your brain firing.

2. DANCE for 2 minutes. Find a tune you just can't resist and dance around. Allow your brain to release the natural feel good chemicals and give yourself the gift of movement as you are able.

3. WRITE for 7 minutes. Set a timer and just write what comes to mind, free flow. It's a great way to reset the blahs and clear your mind.
